Quencie Interviews Peter Parros of The Haves and Have Nots

It was so exciting to interview Peter Parros of Tyler Perry's The Have and Haves Nots on the red carpet of the NAACP Theater Awards.  What really surprised me about Peter was that his voice sounds nothing like his character David on The Haves and Have Nots. Now I know he is Peter and not David but I thought his voice would at least sound like his character.  This is how you know he is a good actor.  Find out what he says about what it is like to work with Tyler Perry on The Oprah Winfrey Network.  Watch our interview below.

Quencie Interviews Actor/Comedian, Cedric The Entertainer

I was invited to the set of TV Land's hit show, 'The Soul Man' to interview one of The Kings of Comedy for my online show, Studio Q.  Cedric The Entertainer is one of my favorite comedians, so I was super excited to have the opportunity to interview him.

What I most love about Cedric is how funny and approachable he is.  Even though he was the star of the show he was very down to earth and cool. This always makes my job so much easier. Everyone is not like that, trust me! He was so much fun! Watch our interview below.

Quencie Interviews Actress, Taraji P Henson

I interviewed Taraji P. Henson at her Hollywood movie premiere for the "From The Rough" film she and Michael Clarke Duncan starred in.  This movie tells the inspirational true story of Catana Starks from the historically black university Tennessee State, who became the first African-American woman ever to coach an all-men’s team at the collegiate level. Through grit and determination, she overcame incredible odds and deep-seated prejudice from all corners to guide a rag-tag group of golfers to an all-time record championship season.

"I believe art changes lives, art saves lives, art creates lives, and right now, tonight, it's not about me. It's about this woman's story, her legacy. She touched me; she inspired me." Taraji says about Catana Starks during our Studio Q interview.

This was the last film that Michael Clark Duncan starred in. Taraji says, "I'm just so grateful to God and the angels above, including Michael Clark Duncan who had everything to do with getting this movie distributed. There's a very emotional scene in the movie when I'm getting fired..and I'm human. Some days I'm in it, some days I'm not. And this particular day, I just wasn't feeling it. And as a scene partner, he was there and available. And all I had to do was look up in his big ole brown eyes, and then it just came for me."

Other stars in the film include Henry Simmons, Tom Felton, LaToya Luckett, Ben Youcef, Robert Bailey Jr. and Justin Chon. This film is all about dedication and perseverance. Coach Catana Starks is indeed a true Shero and after watching the film, you'll feel totally inspired.

Quencie Interviews Actress, Elise Neal

I interviewed actress Elise Neal of TV One's Hollywood Divas on the red carpet of Kiki Shepard's 12th annual charity bowling challenge.  She talked about her bowl game and a new project that she is working on that's loosely based on her life.  I attempted to ask Elise about her thoughts about Hollywood Divas but she was not having any of it.  I really just wanted to know if the ladies had all made up yet and would she be returning to Hollywood Divas.  However, mums the word from Elise. She did however give a little insight on her feelings through a interesting comparison of why things could have likely went wrong on the show. You do kinda get what she is saying even though she is not necessarily saying it. Also, see what two actors from Real Husbands of Hollywood video bomb our interview.  It was so much fun.  Watch below and find out exactly what Elise says.

Kelly Price gives me so much life with that voice. Even though she only sang a little bit of Happy Birthday you could not tell me that I was not in a VIP seat at a concert.  Watch my interview below.  She even gave me some twitter love about the interview. I love when that happens.

Quencie Interviews Actress, Kellita Smith of Z Nation

I interviewed Kellita Smith at the NAACP Theater Awards about her role as Roberta Warren in the Syfy post-apocalyptic series, Z Nation.  She is always so much fun when I see her. I met her years ago when I was PA for a day on 'The Bernie Mac Show.'  Kellita is best known for her role as Wanda McCullough in the Fox sitcom The Bernie Mac Show from 2001-2006. I will never forget how she took the time to encourage me about doing my own show, Studio Q. "There are thousands of people who want to do what I do," she said to me about acting, "But you want to do something that's not so saturated. And you got a master's degree, please! You are not a PA. ( A PA is a production assistant) The next time I see you," she said pointing in my face, "It better be with a microphone and a camera crew."  I had only been in LA a year when we had this conversation so the next time I seen Kellita was to pick up my check. I remember giving her a Thank you card for those words.  However, a few years later, I saw her at a Miki Howard concert with my microphone and camera asking for an interview.  You never know who is going to inspire you and share words of wisdom that will really resonate with you. I will always appreciate how she took the time to lift me up. Thanks Kellita. Check out my interview below.

A few years back I had the distinct pleasure and honor to speak to Emmy award winning actress Viola Davis and her husband Julius Tennon on the purple carpet of Halle Berry's Silver Rose Awards Gala and Auction to benefit the Jenessee Center. Viola was a presenter at the ceremony. Viola is one of my favorite actresses so I was super nervous to speak to her.  I remember how I tripped over my words when she was in front of me, but through the power of editing you don't get to witness that.  One day I hope to get a chance to do a sit down interview with her. She has so much wisdom to share in the journey that lead her to the amazing place she is in right now.  Watch my interview below.

Quencie Interviews Actress, Tichina Arnold

I interviewed the amazingly talented Tichina Arnold at the Icon Mann Power 30 Pre-Oscar Dinner. We talked about her beautiful daughter, Alijah, the huge impact of "Martin" and being a lupus advocate. Tichina's sister, Zenay Arnold, was diagnosed with lupus eight years ago, along with rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren’s Syndrome, Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder (MCTD), and Raynaud’s disease. She was told there was no cure and that these diseases could lead to her demise. Lupus is three times more common in black women than in white women and Tichina was adamant about women becoming aware.  Learn more at www.lupus.org and watch my interview with Tichina Arnold below.

Quencie Interviews Comedian, Affion Crockett
