The 1991 Whitney Houston Interview That Changed Everything for Me [VIDEO]

This 1991 interview with #WhitneyHouston and Ed Gordon changed everything for me.

It was the first time I felt like we were really getting to know Whitney the person, not just the icon. I watched it in real time, hung on every word, and honestly… it made me dream about meeting her one day.

Shout out to Ed Gordon, who always brought exclusives to BET and asked the kind of questions that let artists breathe. This interview peeled back the layers and let us see the human behind the legendary voice, beauty, and talent.

This remains one of my favorite Whitney interviews because it felt different. She seemed comfortable. Open. Willing to share in a way we hadn’t seen before.

And for so many of us, this was the moment we truly fell in love with her spirit, not just her sound. Watch the full conversation below.
