Quencie Interviews The First USA X Factor Winner, Singer/ Songwriter Melanie Amaro [VIDEO]

On Saturday, November 6th I interviewed the first winner of X Factor USA, Melanie Amaro on my For The Love of Whitney Facebook page. I recently posted an amazing video of her singing “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston, which garnered over 400,00 views. As I was reviewing the comment section of the video I saw someone accuse Melanie of lip synching. I was so outraged that I asked if her if I could interview her on the page. I wanted to discuss the ridiculousness of anyone thinking she was lip synching after she won a national singing competition, which was solely based on how great her voice was.

Melanie was so much fun to talk to. We addressed all of those insane lip synching comments and then she shared her incredible story of meeting Whitney Houston 2 days before she passed away. She even sang The Greatest Love of all at the end of our interview, which is my favorite Whitney song.

I had such a great time interviewing Tik Tok creator Danny Barksdale about his content in my new live series on Instagram where I interviewed the creators behind videos that went viral on my Facebook page.

This high school student has such a bright future ahead of him. I cannot wait to see where all of his talent takes him. Sky’s the limit!

Quencie Interviews R&B Singer/Songwriter Jessica Jolia [VIDEO]

On Thursday March 18, 2021, I conducted my very first Instagram LIVE interview with R&B singer/songwriter Jessica Jolia. I had so much fun chatting with this future Grammy winner, who is widely known for her versatility and multi-octave vocal range.

During our 3-hour interview, we covered everything from Jessica’s music, to her creative process, to her favorite breakfast. I had such a blast in this interview that I made Jessica a ‘Friend’ in my head even before our conversation was officially over. She was the perfect first guest, which begins a new chapter for my Studio Q interviews during this pandemic. The talent, personality and work ethic that she embodies is not only a triple threat but a rare combination in the world of music. I was blown away to learn about all she has done as an artist both on stage and in the studio. She sings, writes, produces and plays multiple instruments, which is all released on her own record label, Dekada Records.

Jessica’s debut single "Sometimes," independently released and featured in the critically acclaimed film Sister Code, quickly attracted the attention of listeners across all platforms and reached over a million streams on Spotify. Her stellar performances on The Ellen Show and the Late Late Show with James Corden have been written about and featured in The Source, This Is RnB, The A&R Report, Rolling Soul Brazil and many other publications worldwide.
