This project grew out of frustration over the lack of positive portrayals of Whitney in the media following her passing. I was tired of Whitney being defined more by her struggles rather than her triumphs. So, I set out to create the Whitney tribute that I wished to see in the world. 9 months, 5,000 hours, and a successful Kickstarter campaign later, “For The Love of Whitney” was born.
This must-see documentary highlights the love people have for both Whitney Houston the icon, and for Whitney Houston the person. The film is a collection of behind the scenes footage, rare interviews clips, live performances and never before seen interviews that I conducted with celebrities who share untold stories about Whitney.
What separates this documentary from any other fan-made tribute is the 20 + plus Studio Q interviews I conducted. This tribute offers a positive perspective about Whitney that is not overshadowed by any negative headlines. What makes it unique to the big budget TV specials, documentary films and award tributes we’ve seen about Whitney is the intimate feel. This is like a beautiful love letter to Whitney and you can feel it when you watch it. For all of the die hard Whitney fans around the world, I made this especially for you!
