Jada Pinkett Smith posted a video to Facebook addressing the lack of diversity in The Academy Award Nominations. According to TMZ, Jada -- whose husband, Will Smith, was overlooked by the Academy for his performance in "Concussion" -- says in a super powerful way, "Maybe it's time we pull back our resources and we put them back into our communities, and we make programs for ourselves that acknowledge us in ways that we see fit, that are just as good as the so-called mainstream." Jada suggested, "We can no longer beg for the love, acknowledgement or respect of any group." She made it clear she won't be attending The Oscars. Watch the video below.
Jada's video has been viewed over 7 million times now including by one of her husband's ex co-stars Janet Hubbard, The original 'Aunt Viv' on The Fresh Prince. She went in on both Jada and Will. Check out her response to Jada's video below.
