According to Ballalert, James Harden has $228 million more reasons to stay in Houston, TX. The Rockets have officially announced that they have signed the all-star to a four-year super maximum contract extension that will run him through the 2022-23 season.

Harden had already signed a four-year, $118 million extension with the Rockets last year and had two years and $59 million left on his current contract. He’ll now earn $228 million total through the end of his contract thanks to his$170 million extension.

“Houston is home for me,” Harden said in a statement. “[Owner Leslie Alexander] has shown he is fully committed to winning, and my teammates and I are going to keep putting in the work to get better and compete for the title.”  Harden’s new teammate, Chris Paul, has also commented on the news, posting, “CONGRATS!!! To hell with the ball, lemme hold some money” on Instagram.
