According to The YBF, This Sunday, August 30 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, Kanye West will receive the VMA’s highest honor, the Michael Jackson VideoVanguard Award, in honor of his career-spanning groundbreaking videos, legendary VMA performances, and continued impact on music, art, fashion, and culture.
From the “Jesus Walks” trilogy to the imagery of “Bound 2,” “Blood on the Leaves,” and “Otis” with JAY Z, Kanye's visual have always pushed the boundaries of artistry. And hopefully he'll be happy about getting recognized for it.
He'll join a list of prestigious past Vanguard recipients including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Peter Gabriel, Guns N’ Roses, Beastie Boys, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and BEYONCÉ.
