On Nov. 30, 2016, I attended the Keep the Promise concert in Los Angeles and periscoped the whole event. Keep the Promise an advocacy effort created to continue to promote awareness about HIV and AIDS. The event welcomed thousands of people for a march down Hollywood Boulevard and a free concert at the Dolby Theater. Hosted by actress-choreographer, Rosie Perez, the concert was headlined by Patti LaBelle, Patti Pies singing sensation James Wright Chanel, Common, JoJo, Dougie Fresh and many more. In addition, AHF presented living legend Harry Belafonte with its Lifetime Achievement Award for his charitable work and activism all over the world at the event. I love Harry Belafonte. He is one of my real heroes and can you believe he is almost 90!
What surprised me most about the event was watching Robi Reed's Reed for Hope Foundation video on the big screen flash a scene of me interviewing her on the red carpet holding my Studio Q mic. I was stunned. She's been interviewed by lots of people so I did not expect to ever see my mic anywhere! It was awesome!
Check out all the performance I captured on periscope below.
